costume national resort 2011

costume national paid tribute to helmut lang by way of celine this season, all austere tailoring and nineties minimalism, if a little wider-legged than the now-retired designer was wont to do.

what was most impressive, though, because even in the lookbook, where more severe cuts and lack of color tend to show up as boring, the stark beauty of the collection, the impeccable cuts, stood out as brightly as something with a lot more flash & glitter.

besides, as many collections have been relying on merely that to get attention, it’s nice to see some movement towards clothes which are, simply, excellent.

besides, pieces like these never go out of style, and it would be difficult to tire of wearing them. that’s worth the price tag.
